Abstract

This paper examines the ZeroMinute business model, a mobile, doorstep car-washing and basic car-maintenance service designed for customers in Karachi, Pakistan. The concept responds to the time and convenience constraints experienced by vehicle owners who may otherwise need to travel to petrol stations or service centres and wait for their vehicles to be cleaned or maintained. The proposed service combines online or telephone booking, on-location delivery, flexible scheduling, service packages and promotional vouchers. The paper uses the information contained in the original business study, including its discussion of the local market, customer segments, competitors, pricing and promotional options. The source document reports desk-based review of online material and informal market observations, including visits and telephone discussions; however, it does not provide a documented survey sample, questionnaire or respondent-level dataset. Accordingly, this article presents an exploratory, descriptive assessment of the business concept rather than a statistical test of customer demand or business performance. The analysis identifies convenience, time saving and doorstep delivery as the model’s central value propositions, while operational scheduling, service quality, pricing and competition remain important implementation considerations. In addition to the exploratory description, the paper provides a statistical analysis of the limited price data available, a power analysis and sample-size calculations for future empirical research, and a proposed statistical framework that can guide follow-up confirmatory studies. These additions strengthen the paper’s methodological transparency and provide a clear roadmap for rigorous testing of the proposed model.
